Ruadh – The Rock Of The Clyde

One-man atmospheric black metal project, Ruadh, return with their sophomore album entitled ‘The Rock of the Clyde’ There will be six tracks of epic, Scottish, atmospheric black metal with folk elements throughout. ‘The Rock of the Clyde’ is an evolution from their debut album ‘Sovereign’. It has a much more melodic feel yet has more visceral elements too. Tom Perrett, hailing from Rutherglen (also known as the red glen) in the central belt of Scotland looks to forge a sound akin to the classics he has always enjoyed such as Bathory, Burzum, Windir and Emperor. Ruadh’s sound will also appeal to fans of newer atmospheric black metal bands such as Saor, Winterfylleth and Panopticon. ‘The Rock of the Clyde’ contains six tracks that are massive in both scope and scale, taking you through the Iron Ages in Scotland. It also explores the history and mythology of the people of Scotland, conveying both sorrow and uplifting, almost heroic tones.

Shadow In The Darkness – Erstwhile Befell

Shadow In The Darkness are a quartet ensemble since 2009 that minister zealously the technical metal music arts. In what it begets, they infuse melodic pliers with spicular (poly)rhythm acts all in a self-reflective outline of frugality in which they dare their contemplators not to partake into a spiraling multiverse of displays.

Sodomisery – The Great Demise

SODOMISERY , hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, was formed in 2015 by Harris Sopovic. Having started out as a studio project, Harris wanted to create the perfect blend between death and black metal with a fresh sound. The first EP was recorded by Harris with the support of musicians from well known swedish metal acts such as Diabolical, Netherbird, LIK and Katatonia. The EP was released digitally in 2017 and received favourable reviews giving Harris the idea to turn the project into a full-fledged band. In 2018 the final line-up was cemented when Viktor Eklund, Paul Viscolit and Magnus Grönberg joined, all with extensive experience from the swedish and international metal scenes. The band spent the remainder of the year writing music, playing live and spreading the word with the local metal audience. As 2019 came around, SODOMISERY entered Wing Studios together with Sverker Widgren (Diabolical, Mörk Gryning, Wormwood and many more) to put the newly written songs on record. Their highly anticipated debut album “ THE GREAT DEMISE ” will be released through TESTIMONY RECORDS on May 22nd 2020 and is sure to be a gem in every metalheads collection. SODOMISERY is ready to show the world that they and the Stockholm extreme metal scene is as vibrant as ever, and will continue to put out the quality music that it has been known for during the past decades.

Temnein – Tales: Of Humanity And Greed

Third album of French Melodic Death Metal band Temnein. The main lyrical concept is about various tales, myths and legends. Different universes and folklores are mentioned: classic childhood occidental fairy-tales, unsung tales from Asia and Inuit lands, Pop culture universes (Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask, Doctor Who…). Each story has a common moral: the repetition of human errors and avidity across time. Musically, the band has wrote shorter songs to add more dynamics to their Melodeath roots. More Doom/Death and Post-Metal influences have been incorporated to increase the atmospheric side of the previous album. A 10-minute song with Progressive elements is closing the album.

Unreqvited – Empathica

As every other chapter before it, Empathica transports listeners to an immersive setting drenched with lush guitars and ethereal melodies, contrasted by signature black metal howls to create a seamless blend of serene aggression. It’s a towering composition that instills glory with each vibrating string, uplifting and unfolding with each consecutive listen. You could categorize Empathica in various different ways, including atmospheric black metal and symphonic blackgaze, but each fails to capture the emotion that transpires with every passing minute. – www.heaviestofart.com
